Commissioner Farley named improving Hepatitis C prevention and treatment as one of the two strategic goals of the Division of Disease Control in his testimony on the Department of Public Health’s Fiscal Year 2019 Operating Budget. Specifically, the Division of Disease Control will aim to “increase the proportion of reported individuals with chronic hepatitis C virus infection who are successfully treated.” With this increased attention to treating HCV, HepCAP’s coalitional work to improve the continuum of prevention, diagnosis, care, and support services will be an integral part of this goal!
