This NNLCC webinar will provide a national perspective of how the hepatitis C virus (HCV) and opioid use disorder epidemics are connected and what health centers can do to address them. We will hear from Lauren Canary from the CDC about expansion of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and what resources are available to providers.

Dr. Wesley Klein from Duffy Health Center in Hyannis, MA on Cape Cod will discuss their Shared Medical Appointment Model for MAT, HCV and how it has grown to address other diseases. He will also share the success they have seen with nurse-led care and combining behavioral health services for their patients. Dr. Alysse Wurcel from Tufts Medical Center, Department of Public Health and Community Medicine in Boston, MA, will conclude with a discussion about linkage to care for patients in correctional facilities who have a diagnosis of HCV and/or HIV and co-occurring substance use disorders.
