“This winter marks the 3rd year that Prevention Point Philadelphia will be operating its Point of Refuge for those living on the street in the Kensington area. We will be continuing our approach of radical acceptance for those who stay with us – meeting all guests “where they are at” and welcoming them with open arms even if they are visibly intoxicated, unbathed, or have been banned from every other shelter in the city.
We are excited to announce two major changes for this upcoming winter:
- This will be the first winter we are able to provide 6 beds for women in addition to 17 beds for men!
- We will be open from December 15 through April 15, 45 days longer than the previous two winters!
We are very grateful to be receiving funding assistance from the Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services this year, but we can always use additional support. If you are able to support our winter respite, please do so by donating through this Razoo page. If you are more comfortable sending a check, they can be written out to “Prevention Point Philadelphia” and sent to:
P.O. Box 60990
Philadelphia, PA 19133
