The Chronic Liver Disease Foundation’s “Triple E for HCV:  Engagement, Education, and
Eradication of HCV Among Patients with Substance Use Disorders” is an initiative that offers a CME educational component for recovery center staff on the HCV management of patients. The CME resource is aimed toward physicians and health care providers who care for patients with substance use disorders, particularly injection drug users.

The second component involves free HCV screening at centers, in which all patients would be screened by CLDF personnel with an antibody OraSure Test Kit. The positive patients will then be given an HCV-RNA blood test and then be counseled and linked to care.
