A new study from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases reports that over 2 million people in the United States had current HCV infection during 2013‐2016. The findings of the study suggest that the previous 2013-2016 US HCV prevalence estimate derived from NHANES alone underestimates the actual number of HCV antibody–positive persons by approximately 0.38 million persons and the number of HCV RNA–positive persons by approximately 0.25 million persons.
