The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) is seeking nominations for the Viral Hepatitis Elimination Planning Committee. This volunteer committee will be comprised of a broad range of viral hepatitis stakeholders from across the state of Pennsylvania. DOH is seeking self-nominations from individuals with a variety of expertise to ensure a breadth of knowledge is represented on the committee.
The purpose of the Planning Committee is to provide direction for the establishment of a statewide viral hepatitis elimination coalition and ultimately a viral hepatitis elimination campaign. Specifically, this committee will be tasked with overseeing the development of a viral hepatitis elimination campaign strategic plan.
DOH is seeking 10 to 15 committee members to serve a 2-year term beginning September 2019. DOH will convene a meeting of the newly established Planning Committee in the fall of 2019 to discuss the creation of a statewide coalition and development of a strategic plan.
Qualifications
- Expertise in one or more of the
following areas of viral hepatitis management and prevention:
- Academic research
- Case management
- Clinical management
- Community outreach (especially experience working in high-risk communities)
- Government affairs
- Harm reduction services
- Patient advocacy
- Public policy
- Living with viral hepatitis B or C
- Availability to attend one-day in-person meetings twice annually in Harrisburg, PA
- Pennsylvania residency
- Experience with strategic plan development (Not required but highly encouraged)
